The Eliwana Mine Site Rail Camp project, located in Eliwana, Pilbara WA, was executed for Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) and spanned from December 2019 to May 2020. This project involved the design, construction, and installation of a standalone, off-the-grid rail camp, tailored to support remote mining operations.

The scope of work encompassed detailed design and engineering, the manufacture of buildings, and the transportation of materials over 3,500 kilometers from Darwin to the Pilbara. Key elements of the project included the supply and installation of 400 rooms, dining, office, recreation, gym, tavern, and maintenance facilities, as well as underground services, a power station, a wastewater treatment facility with a spray field, and a water treatment facility.

Ongoing maintenance was provided by three full-time staff, covering carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing services. Despite the challenges posed by the remote location, wet season conditions, and the Covid-19 pandemic, the project was completed on schedule, reflecting the team’s exceptional commitment and coordination with FMG during a period of uncertainty.
